This Morning's Freak Out/Panic

My dog's never let me sleep in. They usually wake me up around 4 or 5 in the morning and then we're up for the day because now they want to eat and play. Today being Saturday I wanted to sleep in since I was exhausted from the weekend.

So this morning I kicked the dogs out of the room and put up the gate to block them from scratching on my door. I also closed the bathroom door really tight. Rocky likes to go in and pick the paper and toilet paper rolls out of the trash.

I go back to sleep in peace for 2.5 hours. I get up it's 8:30 and it's eerily quiet in the apartment. I walk up to the gate and there's Smokey to greet me, but no Rocky. However, I do see Rocky's path of destruction. There's a bottle of nail polish on the floor, a pen some torn up paper. But, there's no Rocky.

I walk into the living room expecting to see the pup on the coffee table or on the couch unable to get down. But he's not there. The dogs only had the kitchen and the living room and he wasn't in either place. So I start calling him and I am trying to suppress the panic I feel rising. I am calling him and offering him treats and he's not coming out. I am moving boxes looking every where and he's no where to be found. I am in full panic mode.

I am now walking in circles and freaking out. Just for the heck of it I decide to check the bathroom, even though the door is still shut tight just like I left it. So, I open the door nice and slowly and there, is my sweet (read devil) puppy looking up at me with his innocent eyes (read mischievous, devilish). He had jumped on the door and opened it (like he does when I'm in the shower) and then either jumped on it or leaned against it and shut it again. Little devil.

The mystery was now solved. I called my mom and she thought it was very funny and that it was his way of teaching me a lesson for leaving him to play by himself.

I can't be the only person something like this has happened to. So, tell me, what has caused you a panic when looking for something when it was right in front of your face.

Weekend Update By Me

I went on a date this weekend with a guy I met in NJ over Thanksgiving. We met up in Mystic, CT and went to the casino for the day. It was our second date and it was 10 hours long. We stayed in the same hotel (separate rooms of course).

I have to say that 10 hours flew by very quickly. However, I do not recommend a 10 hour second date. Now, I know what the comments are going to say. Everyone is going to ask what he's like who is and they're going to ask for all the details.

I will give you this, he has all his teeth, a great sense of humor and is extremely nice. That's all you get for now.

So, we're at the casino and we're sitting at this cafe and just talking, when a woman walks up to me and starts asking me questions. Of course she has a very thick accent and I can't understand a thing that she's saying. So she asks me if I'm Louisa or something like that. I tell her no and then she asks me if my date is my boyfriend. I say no. She says good, he's too old for you. You're a beautiful woman, he's too old. Then she went over to my date and asked if he was married. He of course didn't understand what she said and he's not sure what she asked so he says, I'm not sure. Then he told her that he was a priest and that's why he's not married.

I told him that strange people are drawn to me for some odd reason and he said it's the same thing with him. So, that should make for an interesting pairing.

Let the comments begin.

6 Weird Things

Marty tagged me with this. For some reason he wants to know six weird things about me. So here they are:

1. I am OCD about only one or two things.
2. I am obsessed with my DVR.
3. I take my dog to daycare.
4. Sometimes I imagine going on a crime spree but then I realize all the ways that I'll get caught.
5. I want a relationship, but I am petrified of commitment.
6. I am paralyzed by my fear of bees.

Now, I'm not going to tag anyone with this since everyone has already been tagged and LB hates them.

Long Time No Blog

I have been busier than a one armed wallpaper hanger. However, I can't tell you what I've been doing or rather, I have nothing to show for all my busyness.

I've been busy with school and with work. Rocky starts obedience class this Tuesday and he also will start daycare once a week to help absorb some of his puppy energy. I thought it would be best to help expend some of his energy while I still have some belongings. So far he has eaten 2 candy canes and destroyed many, many pieces of paper, some important, some not.

What else? I've been going to the gym 5 days a week and I'm still trying to have a social life, which is coming along slowly.

I've been very busy watching all of the shows that I have DVR'd. My DVR and my remote car starter were my best presents to myself.

I just discovered that I need to do a Residency within the next 3 months. I think that I have to go to MN. Very exciting, first UT and now MN. I can hardly contain myself.

Hmmm....nothing else to tell. I've been trying to to keep up on your blogs, but I'm falling behind. I still love you and find you all wildly entertaining.

Happy New Year!

I spent New Year's Eve at my sister in law's. She had a little party. My 4 year old niece made it until midnight. I barely did. It was fun.

Did anyone watch the Dick Clark's Rockin New Year's Eve? He looks good, but sounds so awful. Maybe it's time to pass the torch.

I surfed some blog's looking for New Year's Resolutions and I didn't see any. Does anyone make them anymore? Should we even bother? I am going to bother. I'm going to make some this year and see what happens. So here they are in no particular order:

Back up my laptop hard drive.
No more talking to or texting the Ex.
Get more exercise.
Eat better.
Lose weight.
Actually go on a date when someone asks regardless of my self image at the time.

Now, let me hear some of yours.
